Cookies and device storage

Version 1.0 · October 27, 2026

This statement explains what boxtempo.com and the BoxTempo app store on your device, and why. We use no cookies for advertising or to follow you across websites. So we show no cookie banner.

The website boxtempo.com

The website sets one cookie, and only when you choose a language in the language menu:

  • bt-locale: your language choice (en, es or ca), for one year. Only boxtempo.com reads it.

This cookie does what you ask for, so it needs no consent (article 22.2 LSSI). The cookie guide of the Spanish Data Protection Agency uses the choice of a language as an example.

Our visit statistics use PostHog in cookieless mode. They set no cookie and use no local storage or session storage. The privacy notice explains how they work. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, the statistics do not start.

When you come near the early-access form, the page loads Cloudflare Turnstile from challenges.cloudflare.com. Turnstile checks that a person sends the form. The form needs this check. By default, Turnstile sets no cookie: it gives the page a single-use token. Cloudflare uses the signals of your browser to detect bots and, as an independent controller, to improve Turnstile (Turnstile privacy addendum).

The BoxTempo app of your box

The app of your box (for example on yourbox.boxtempo.com and app.boxtempo.com) stores only what it needs to work:

  • __Secure-better-auth.session_token: your session. It keeps you signed in on all BoxTempo addresses. Only the server can read it. It stops working when you sign out, or 90 days after its last use.
  • __Secure-bt-auth-epoch: a random value that tells every open app about a sign-in or a sign-out. 14 days.
  • bt-app-locale: your language, when you choose one or when your account has one. 1 year.
  • __Secure-bt-app-email: your email address, only if you tick "Remember my email on this device". 1 year. "Forget this email" deletes it.
  • Local storage and the app cache: the app files and a copy of your own app data, so that the app opens fast. The app deletes the copy of your data when you sign out.

These items are strictly necessary for the app that you ask to use, so they need no consent (article 22.2 LSSI).

How to delete them

You can delete cookies and site data in the settings of your browser. If you delete the session cookie, you must sign in again.

Changes

We update this statement when the website or the app stores something new. The version and the date are at the top.
